In this fascinating exploration Duncan will focus on the origins of The Medicine Wheel and how these ancient teachings can be used as a powerful key for unlocking self knowledge and personal healing in our current time.  The Mayans were the originators of The Medicine Wheel which symbolizes the individual journey we each must take to find our own path or soul truth.  As we fast approach 2012 and speculation heightens regarding this date we will look the importance of these ancient Mayan teachings, look at what has been said relating to this shift in consciousness and how this will affect our search for self knowledge and development  in the coming months.

An introduction to 5 Rhythms Shamanic Ecstatic Dance, The Spirit of Breath, and Movement  Meditation work with Duncan Wordley

Shamanic Dance offers a simple yet profound way of reconnecting with the essential parts of ourselves. This is an introduction to shamanic dance and the five rhythms. Learn to free the body, experience the key to awaken the body and ride the wave! The workshop will provide participants with new areas of experience and self discovery through movement, awakening its potential and lay foundations for future individual work.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced dancers wishing to deepen their connection with the inner dance. Transformative, liberating and fun the workshop offers a rich and exciting perspective on ourselves and the world and allows space for the woman, the man and the child in everyone.

This session is accessible to anyone of any age, sex race, size, shape or disposition, willing to take the opportunity to move themselves and their body.

Biography

Duncan Wordley has been teaching Shamanism, Dance and Medicine Wheel for the last 24 years. His work is dynamic and empowering, combining ancient knowledge and perspectives with a modern no nonsense approach that reaches to the heart of our experience in the now. An accredited 5 Rhythms Teacher since 1989, Duncan has studied with a wide range of shamanic teachers from a variety of traditions and has undertaken several Medicine apprenticeships, the longest lasting ten years. Having a longstanding interest in esoteric psychology, the Medicine Wheel, Mayan Calendar, Toltec Shamanism, the Dreamspell and our own European Traditions he combines his knowledge of these in these workshops.  A gifted communicator and ceremonialist Duncan brings heart, humour and shamanic insight together in a special and individual way. These workshops are not to be missed if you are a seeker in any way!

Its Party Time

“Workhouse 2011” – 12th to 14th August

24 Bands….. 24 Hours of DJ sets over the weekend …. all for £24

A smallish, family friendly party, with a live music stage in the garden, and new this year, a DJ setup in the gallery room.

A large lounge area with tasty food, of all sorts, and a lovely big bar + chill out area. A real happy weekend, no fences etc and aimed at people who want to relax and have a good time.
The event is being run by “The Workhouse”, which is doing up the building for Community, Arts, Education & Environment use.

Camping is available onsite, a whole 50 yards away, together with our new bunkhouse that sleeps 20, with toilet & shower.

A small donation for camping and parking, will go towards preparing and clearing the field after the event, and of course lots of toilets.
